Can somebody explain props to me? I have a "Terry" bass boat with a 1976 55 HP Johnson engine. It is a little slow on the "take-off" but will flat get it when wide open. I am thinking about buying a stainless steel prop, but I don't know about pitch or anything. Any info will be helpful.
Happy boating,
JoeP.

Re: Props?

Post the numbers on your prop and your top RPM with an average load. We'll calculate slip from that. Also look at where your cavitation plate is in relation to the bottom of your running surface. If I remember correctly that boat has a pad bottom. Is there a step in the transom? Or does the transom go straight down to the bottom?

Good luck!

Re: Props?

Also make a note of your water pressure at several RPM readings.

Sorry for the afterthought!
