Hello all... been reading here for a while. I'm currently looking at buying a pair of 2000 Johnson Ocean Pro 150's.. I'd like your thoughts on the motors and suggestions on what to look for specifically when testing them, etc. Anything is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mark

Same basic stuff as with any motor. Compression, lower unit oil condition, trim operation and motor condition, overall apperance, noisy/quiet, etc. Make darn sure they've only had Champion plugs in them.

Great motors. Great torque. Very economical. Quiet. Light and relatively compact for 2.6 liters.

Hold on!

Thanks Dhadley! Any con's / troublesome areas that anyone is aware of?

Great motors.
Used motors are only as good as the guy who owned it before you. Ask the owner what preventative and repair was done along with the regular checks Dhadley recommended. If I don't like the response, there are plenty of motors for sale.
Good luck
