I wasn't going to touch that link, I learned a long time ago to be shy of posts like this, especially when no explanation is offered.

Good point MT, re no explanation. That is something I always watch for in emails from someone I know. But bigdee had 1400+ posts so I figered it was safe. I did open it up and it looks legit.

Sorry for the lack of an explanation. Had to leave in middle of post so I cut things short. I have been using DuckDuckGo for awhile and pleased with it so I cut and pasted the info link to share opinions of this search engine. Since I have been using it my personalized ads have all but disappeared. Also I seem to be getting less spam mail. Any thoughts??

Well with my wife running an internet company with over 1400 customers, I am a bit cautious, even when it comes from someone that looks legit, I run a system very similar to this one, and you would be very surprised at what comes up.

Yes, I am a bit leery of links like that myself without much trusted information of what's inside.

Thanks for pointing it out that it's safe to open. But please, if you happen to run across one that you don't trust someday, Please report it by clicking on the report post icon in the lower left corner of the thread so that one of the forum moderators could look into it a bit further for safety reasons of course. Thank you all, it truly is appreciated for all the help you provide here on iboats. :)

Thanks for clearing the air. I thought I had just found my first thread to learn on of how to delete a thread as part of a new iboats team member.:)

Congrats, Fun Times. I didn't see an announcement on your promotion. I've heard new Mods have to watch out for the RED button. :D

Re: protect your browsing privacy

Since they started revealing how much of your browsing history is shared, I've switched to DuckDuckGo as well. Haven't had many problems but just don't like it when my banking, credit card, and insurance web site information is tracked. Possibly a little paranoia, but just feel that it's no ones business where I bank.
