I fish in water with alot of rocks.depending on water levels they can be just below surface. Is there any reason why there has never been a bracket or frame to protect lower end, kinda of like a skid plate for 4X4's ? I'm sure there is a reason such as it will rip the hull open. but just courious

Re: protecting lower end

I am just guessing here but I see a couple of problems....first thing is Why wouldn't a skid plate interfere with the performance of the prop? If water can't get to the prop, the boat ain'tagonna move. 2nd thing is, if the skid plate is low enough to protect the prop is would restrict you movement even more in shallow water. Not sure, but don't think that one will work.
