I am curious as to what you guys use to protect your investment when towing the boat to the lake on long trips. How do you protect the hull from chips from rock and such.

Re: Protecting your investment

untill next season my hull bottom wasnt good enough to worry about it.
but this next season in going to put thoes big honkin heavy black thingies that go on the trailer in front of the hull...

i dont know if these "thingies" are what tash ment.....

i saw one guy once that had a mesh that ran the legnth of the trlr under the hull.
looked good, looked like it would work well but a pita for me cause i float on and float off. so im allways walkin on the trailer when its in the water

cheers

Re: Protecting your investment

i have a open bow and it comes with snap covers for the bow and cockpit but thought I should protect my investment anyway I can. I have mudflaps on my truck so that should cut down on most of the rocks or debri being thrown.

i've seen pics of nets you install on your trailer to deflect rocks. i don't trailer far enough to try them.

Never worried about it (asside from trailer fenders), and after several thousand road miles I still don't. Your hull will hold up much better than the leading edge of your truck hood.
