Re: PS2 internal clock

Are you turning it on from the button on the front of the unit? Or the Power switch on the back?

1.If from the front, then I am unsure of what the issue could be.

2.If from the back, that will always happen. Just like unplugging a TV, the times always resets. If you want the time and date to be accurate you have to keep the unit in Standby, not turning power to the unit off completely.

I am turning it off/on from the back of the unit.
But the thing is....it always has kept time, accurately, until last week.
This affects my games, as I have to reset the date in order to play certain events in certain games.
It's a real pain.

Well, guess I will have to keep it on stand-by if I cannot figure out why it stopped telling time.
Thanks .Pony.

On some older motherboard's you need to replace the battery. It's mounted on the Motherboard in a round holder. When you pull the battery out it is about the size of a quarter.

Radio Shack can fix you up with a replacement.

Yup, sounds like it's time for a CMOS battery. Simple fix,Radio Shack has the battery. Be sure to pull the A/C line cord out before you change cards, battery etc.

You might want to go into your Bios and write down the settings for each menu option, it's a pain, but can save you a bunch of time if all of your settings are lost.
