Good post.

This being the case, just think how much healthier your friends and loved ones, especially children, will be when you quit.

Marty

Kenny, I was not promoting or dismissing I thought the info was interesting. I don't smoke never have except the errant cigar once in a blue moon. And I ALWAYS take information like this with skeptism (sp?). I almost never trust big groups with an agenda to push. But hey if it is even partly true your better off arent you?

Again I am not preaching I'll let the AHA do that.

Re: psa deleted

Ok how about this for a case study. I smoked for 16-17 years and quit cold turky and I can atest to many of those things and more. The ones I dont know for sure are heart attacks and cancer and well I have had neither so far hmmmmmm guess I can testify to that too. I think the point is if yer still smokin and you quit your qaulity of life will improve ......no doubt about it.

Hey, ya dont have to be a rocket scientist to
know that if you stop polluting yourself, there's
a real good chance you might feel better.

Why was jgregory's post deleted?

Too controversial or simply not want the majority wants to hear?

Marty

maybe he deleted it himself?

I would think that if a moderator deleted it, a brief note would accompany the deletion

Re: psa deleted

just my 2c, and i don't ever remember getting into this one before. and its been around several times i think...

i do understand smokers wanting to continue to live their lives as normal - like eating out, riding subways, in cars, at work, etc. its an old tradition.

i would think the advanced filtration idea might solve some complaints at public places too. but probably it should also require walls, or full length partitions, maybe glass, or seethru, whatever.

for sure, i've smoked, and still can, on rare occasions- i just hate the way they make me feel later, so i don't do it. maybe once a yr when out at a pub. but the big problem for me, and i'm sure its why total healthnut types put up such a roar- is because no one wants the smoke & fumes coming into their personal space. it burns your eyes, sticks to your hair & clothing, etc.

we quit going to a local restaurant due to this, my 4yr old never was exposed to 2nd hand smoke by my family, but the smoking section at eateries is a joke- like a halfwall between 2 rows of seats...

if places like restaurants really put some pinkmatter into it, they would at least put up a full wall with doors separating them, and an off-the-shelf air filtration system. jeez how hard is it to figure out?
