2013 Honda 115 Outboard. After sitting for at least 30 days it had one small puff of blue smoke when started. Only happened one time and the motor runs just fine afterwards. Should I be concerned?

bigdealsam, Why would "blue smoke" cause you and concern? It is a 2 cycle engine and OIL is mixed into the gas. So blue smoke means the engine has an oil coating inside after the gas evaporated and hence a blue puff during start up.

Blue Smoke = Oil
White Smoke = Water
Black Smoke = too much fuel

I don't see any issues myself. In fact a puff of blue smoke will make me feel pretty good knowing the bearings and such were well lubed. JMHO!

It's a Honda which means 4 stroke.

I wouldn't worry. A little oil got into the cylinders from sitting. Now if it was puffing during operation - Different story.

Some times I wonder why I try to answer some of these questions. Seems I get so many wrong that maybe I need to read more and post less. :sorry:

How many hours on the motor? Probably just a bit of oil leaking down past the valves.

Thanks Guys. Yes, it is a Honda 4 stroke. I should have posted that. It has about 115 hours total.

I don't have the picture of the engine design in my minds eye, so my comments here are "general" in nature.
Typical blue smoke on startup can be from slight leaking of valve stems, trickling a few drops of oil into the chamber. not big deal.
that being said, I wonder what the orientation of the cylinder/head/valves that would either make my statement valid or hogwash.
I'm guessing that the motor was stored tilted up maybe putting the valves elevated over the piston vs on the side.

Don't feel bad. I have made many mistakes here also.
