Looks like I will be rebuilding this motor.Two cylinders had scratches in them, not deep but you can def see and feel them. I'm gonna just rebuild the whole powerhead so I know that it's going to be running good. I never did a compression test. Curiosity got the best of me since I was told the motor sat for about 6 yrs. The voltage reg and switchbox also need replacing,they looked fried. I hope that does not mean my stator is also gone. I really can't wait to tear into this and get the ball rolling.

Got her all stripped down today and lower unit pulled. Having a hard time getting the flywheel off.Got the nut and washer free but wheel won't budge. Also have one mounting bolt that the head stripped on. All in all a very productive day

Switchbox....stator & triggers....all can be very expensive. (More than the mechanical stuff!) Do some research before you dive into this. The flywheel: With the puller on it and cinched down as tight as you dare go, rap on the puller bolt with a hammer a few times. That'll help loosen it. WD40 and the vibrations from the hammer, let it soak overnight, keep at it....eventually it'll come free. If you have the 3 holes for the puller.....be advised the first time I did this I snapped a grade 8 bolt off flush in one of those holes. (Surprised it didn't pull the threads right out of the flywheel!) Drilled it out, increased all the holes to accept a 5/16" bolt....and still had to use the hammer trick.
