Pulling Engine

Hi guys, just getting ready to pull my mercrusier 165 inline 6.
Would pulling on two points be sufficient or should i use 4 points?

I prefer a spreader. That way the load on each lift point is vertical, and doesn't put any bending load on the lift points.

As achris said safety 1st! This process may seem simple to most but will jump up and bite you when you least exspect it.

remember the engine hoist will test the tensile strength of everything you forgot to disconnnect.

oh boY u said it my 4cyl snapped my swing set in half which was 2 big 8x8 timbers so make sure you use something that can hold it pulling a motor out can be rather simple just stay out from under the lift structure.

Thanks for advise guys,Im lucky as im a dairy farmer and have access to a large
tractor with front end loader.Will post some pic,s when i start.

Ok... Let me rephrase..... The last vessel I worked on had a main crane SWL of 1,200 tons... That will lift the entire boat!!! :D
