What's the best kind of puller to use to pull a bearing off of a forward gear?

Bearing splitter and you will not be able to reuse it..

Thanks Faztbullet for the info I was able to get my hands on a merc manual yesterday, but the manual never mention it junking the bearing. It makes sense that the puller is going to stress the cage of the bearing.So are you saying I better order a new bearing when I replace the forward gear?

What engine/lower unit is this about?

79merc80 this is a 90hp Mariner/Merc with gray paint bigfoot.
