Pulling tube with outboard

This may sound like a dumb question but I have always had I/Os. I recently bought an outboard and was wondering how you pull a tube with one. I have a ski pylon but it specifically states not to be used for tubes. I have always pulled one with a bridal (tow clamps for each transom hook with a rope between it) and pulled the tubes off the transom. When I attached the bridal to the new boat, I realized, when the tube is outside the wake, the bridal rope is going to hit and put pressure on the outboard. I would think that wouldn't be good and if your in a turn I would think the pressure might keep you from turning the engine back.

I was wondering how those with outboards pull tubes...... Thanks

I've always used a cable type harness like this and never had any problems.

I still would use the the ski pylon. The rope attached to the bridle will get caught in the wake and it will be difficult to swing your riders outside of the wake. Be careful using the pylon because a tube that fills with water at 35 mph will put a lot of tension on the pylon. Try to use the pancake style tubes, and keep the speed down.

i don not like pylons, of poles. the reason, passenger safety. if the rope breaks the rope recoils directly back at the boat. there have been many injuries do to the whip lash of the rope.

never had a problem with the poles over 20 years. Tubing, wake boarding, knee bording and skiing.
