Pulpit ideas

As my Erie experience has increased I'm now wanting the ability to quickly deploy an anchor. As it is now the anchor is in a locker and is not easily accessible. In an emergency with rough seas it is almost totally inaccessible. I's like some sort of pulpit but the bow design limits what I can do. Pictures aren't the best but you can see that the locker is between the cleats and the nav light is fore of that.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I can't see the anchor locker. Hard to tell for sure from the pics, but it looks like you have a 'flat' area between the 2 cleats and behind the bow lights. You'd need to relocate the light, replacing it with separate port/starboard fixtures so you can slot a (custom built) pulpit between them.

Just a thought

The lid to the anchor locker is between the cleats. Good idea to re-locate the nav lights.

Okay, so if you mount a pulpit, you don't really need the anchor locker hatch to be functional anymore... you basically need a hole (hawse pipe) that you can use to feed the anchor rode into the locker. So what if... the pulpit was mounted to the anchor locker hatch, and the hatch itself was firmly secured to the bow with reinforcement and through bolts instead of the slam latch (I'm guessing) that it has now. You'd only need to get in there to replace the anchor line anyway. Even better, take the hatch off completely, store it away in case the next owner wants to revert; and build a completely new and flat cover and pulpit over the locker.

My boat's anchor rode is accessible from inside the cabin by removing the v-berth cushions and opening a hatch under them, which might be an option for you, too.
