i have the opertunity to purchase a vp 290sp outdrive for my 1988 steigercraft, it now has a aq211a with a 290 outdrive but i can buy this replacement for around 500.00, the only problem is its a different gear ratio, is it expensive for me to change the gear ratio? i was going to have the outdrive gone through over the winter even if it were the correct ratio, present outdrive works perfectly but wouldn't hurt to have a spare laying around, worst case i could sell it in the future if i dont need it, my question is is it expensive to convert to the correct gear ratio, i will not be doing the work i will be paying for this work to be preformed?
