I'm almost done with rebuild, Power head swap. Have the hard bolt (1 behind exhaust housing) left. Any tips on removal, Can I use heat? Also does anyone know what gauge wire I need to replace kill switch wires, also what diameter is hole for kill switch. I want to order 2 new push button switches. A Red and Green one. They are 16MM I'm adding an electric starter to my out board. Does anybody have suggestions where to mount Starter solenoid? and Placement for new starter button. Thanks for reply

Wire gauge for the kill switch really isn't critical if within reason. I'd suggest 18 or 16 ga, for durability reason as much as anything.

OEM start/kill buttons fit a 5/8" hole. I'm too dumb to know what that means in MM without getting out the charts.

A hand-impact screwdriver (the kind you whack with a hammer) usually will get that screw out. If you don't have one, get one if you are going to be working on outboards.
