Longtime lurker, first time poster. I have two batteries, one died, replaced it and turned selector to new battery and smoke started billowing out of alternator. Found that I had reversed pos. and neg. After correcting, the motor turns over real well but there isn't any fuel. Reading some posts here I replaced the starter relay with the spare Volvo supplied, checked the 20 amp fuse didn't see a problem replaced anyway. Turning the key on I do not here the pump run. Also, my radio is dead. Am I missing a fuse or breaker somewhere, how can I check the fuel pump. Thanks for any help.

Did you also check the fuel pump and ignition relays and fuel pump fuse, actually I'd check every fuse and relay in the box. I'd also get your alterator tested.
