I have a 2008 Suntracker Pontoon. I recently bought a different motor for it. I had a '96 Johnson 70 hp outboard on the pontoon. I purchased a '14 Evinrude Etec. I had the round pin cords on my pontoon, and purchased the adapter that connects to the square plugs on the new motor. All the connections are made except on the new motor, but there is one connection that is not used on the old adapter. Am I missing something? Also, my F-I-L helped me take off and put on the new motor. He was the one who disconnected the throttle and gear shift cables. I am a visual learner, and for the life of me, I cannot get the throttle cable to fit inside the motor housing. The dealer I contacted told me that the cables are the same so that should not be the issue. Can someone take a picture of what the connection is supposed to look like? I have had no success finding it elsewhere on the internet. I am not sure if he dropped parts or anything. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
