puter wont work

I shut my old puter down about a year ago and boxed it in the closet. I got it out a while ago and when I fered it up it says operating system not found. LOst programing? bad cord between puter and monitor? I didnt hook up the printer as I wasnt planing on useing it . Shouldnt need to should I?

Never minf found my original hook up sheet ahd one plug wrong. thanks any way.

The lack of atmospheric moisture will sometimes do that to you
