Does anyone know where I can get a digital thermometer that I can use on a 4 hp engine? I would like to mount the thermometer on top of the engine's cover and the the probe wrapped around the motor. This way I can see if the engine is over heating or not. Any help would be great. Thanks.

radioshack, or someplace similar, they sell digital thermometers with remote K-type thermocouples. I would suggest attaching it to the side of the cylinders, possibly fit it inside a spare bolt hole? Most motors have a few for different options that were available but not always fitted.

Hong...I saw one on ebay that looks like a normal sender which goes into the block; however, it was placed on the OUTSIDE of the block. Apparently the trick was to get the correct gap between the block and the tip of the sender. Other factors would come into play, especially the weather.

I prefer to monitor water pressure.<br />Will tell you something is wrong before it overheats your engine.
