hey all, i'm just finishing a transom and stringer repair/replacement, and wondering how i might best put this back together. it's a volvo penta 280 and an AQ260. here are two questions in no particular order:
-rubber rings: does anyone have a part number for the rubber rings that are supposed to go on each bolt of the the transom shield? should they be installed in between the transom shield and the transom, or in between the head of the carriage bolt and the transom shield?
-i guess i'll drop the engine in with bell housing attached and then align it (i might have lost some of my geometry so this might take me a minute). after that i'll install the clamp ring and really crank those bolts down? i assume those bolts get torqued pretty hard (the clamp ring was a total beast to remove). maybe tightening these bolts will even slide the engine forward slightly if i haven't bolted the engine mounts in yet? there a certain torque i'm aiming for?
