I cannot for the life of me get the top back onto the bottom of my 16 foot slickcraft runabout. The bottom half is bowed out and i can't force the sides in enough for the top to slide over the bottom if that makes sense. If anyone else has run into the same problem please share any tips!

Have any pictures? How far out is the hull? When I re-did my boat I had put a strap around the hull to keep the sides from bowing out.

Have no idea what you did to the interior...... Decking? Stringer's? any cross bracing below the decking?

All of those things are critical and can change the ability for the hull to flex inward....... how far off are you?

I can post pics tomorrow. The hull is pretty close to popping together. I tried the strap thing but it just isn't enough. I'll get pics when it's light out.

Pics will tell the tale. Inside bracing and clamping can get the job done just need to see what and where your "Off"

Re: putting hull together

I got it together today. I ended up making a clamp type thingy-ma-jig that squeezed the sides of the boat bottom which caused the front to move back a hair (like squeezing a drive belt in the middle....it shortens it). Then i was just barely able to use a flat bar and rubber mallet to seat it all the way. I must say i was very nervous and it only took 3 people to get it.
