Ok, Just managed to buy myself a 1999 warrior 1891 eagle.. Also bought Johnson 150 1996 /w less then 50hrs. Just wondering how far under the V of the boat i mount the cavitation plate. Also wondering if there are any tricks to hooking up the electrical stuff and throttle.. The boat had no controls or wires.. the motor i bought came with new 2007 ETEC controls and wires, (previous owner traded in for etec and kept orignal controls and wires)

Anyone have an idea what prop to start with? i know its gonna take some playing but id like to start with a OMC aluminum.. and tune to a stainless.

Is the reputation on those Johnson 150's as good as ive heard from the people around town??

Johnson converted to a new wiring harness around 1996. If you have a single round plug on the motor, it is the old style. The newer style was about 3 or 4 seperate connectors, on the port side of the motor. I do not know if there is a converter harness, although a new wiring harness for the motor may do the trick. You will likely need to disassemble the wires from the connectors to install the boat harness inside the motor, as it needs to be.

Fuel and steering should not be an issue. Battery connections should also not be an issue. Since that Johnny has vertical adjustments on the transom bolts, I would set the A-V plate even with the bottom of the hull, in the next to lowest hole in the transom bracket. that way, if you have ventilation, you can drop the motor a hole. If not, you can raise it several holes if necessary.
