Re: putting tilt on a motor that came without it
Easily done, but with a few simple mods. You don't mention if either motor is installed on a boat or not.
Remove the two shocks from the good motor. Remove the two PTT cylinders AND brackets from the bad motor. Take note of the different hardware that is used, you will need ALL of it to install onto the good motor. Bolt the PTT brackets to the good motor. You will need to drill at least two (preferably four) new holes in the transom to secure the mtg brackets properly. Bolt the brackets to the transom. Install the PTT cylinders onto the brackets. Connect the four hydraulic hoses from the pump to the cylinders.
You will also need to remove the reverse lock mechanism from the midsection. It would be a bad day when the PTT system tries to tilt the motor up and the reverse lock is engaged. Not sure what would break first
