OK Im totally new to PWC and had a few questions. I just bought a 95 seadoo gtx 700?750? and a polaris 650 sl .60 lbs compression on front cylinder of sea doo. Question is What is a fair price for an overhaul on this ski? Memphis,Tn

Question 2: 95 polaris 650 sl has a burnt wiring harness (2 wires are crispy)from a box saying high voltage to the front of the engine. I was told I would need a rectifier on one end and a stator on the other.(based on my description on phone) Does this sound right and what is a fair price for having this repaired or replaced? (seen these parts on e-bay for less than 200)

Question 3 what do a stator and rectifier do?I was told stator was for charging batt? Can it run without it?I was scared to hook 12v to it being burnt that way
Any help here is appreciated

Don't know if I can answer all your questions, but here is what I know..

Stator take the place of an alernator. It is used for recharging battery, etc.. The rectifier or what takes the AC current coming off the stator and coverts it into DC current. The recitifer bridge circuit is used anywhere you have the AC to DC conversion.. I cannot comment on the $'sto fix this as there are plenty of variables other than simple parts replacement.

On the Seadoo, presuimg all you need is a top end rebuild, you can have that sent out to a place like fullbore and have the cylinders cleaned up and matched with new pistons and gaskets for ~$300 if you do the work yourself. I have no idea what it would cost to have it done. SBT also offers top end swaps where they send you a rebuilt top end and you send them your core for ~500..
