QD-13 Restoration

Restoring my 10hp QD-13 and upon disassembling the swivel bracket I discovered that the liner was shot. A previous "restorer" had shoved a piece of tin in to take up the slack! So, looking for a replacement part and all the usual sources are saying it not available. Johnson part #0301893. The piece of mine that was left looks like a fibrous material of some sort. Anyone have experience making a substitute part?

I may have a few around. Have any pics of it to refresh my memory. Havent had a 13 in a few years.

If that worked, this is a portion of the parts list for the QD-13. The item of interest is the 301893 which looks like a tube with a lengthwise slit in it. Haven't been able to find a picture of a real one and like i said, i only have the remnants of one in my motor.

Odd, when i check it on their web site it is saying the part is no longer available. Guess i will have to give them a call on Monday to see if that is incorrect.
