Question about 2004 Mercury engine?

The new engines are EFI, also Electric Oil Pump of some sort to lubricate the engine. My questions, has anyone had any dealings with the new system? How do you know it is working? Does it shut the engine down immediately if the pump quits?
I have read a lot of the post about taking the old system off and pre-mixing, maybe Mercury finally realized they needed a better system.
I checked the Mercury site for the new 3.0L 200hp
but they do not have it listed yet. Just the 225-250's.

If your mercury is no longer under warrenty, TAKE IT OFF!!! Those thing are bad news. What do you think would happen if you were traveling on a lake in the middle of nowhere at WOT and that pump stops pumping?
Always trust your own instinct and always trust your own premix. 50:1, thats 16 ounces of quicksilver 2 cycle to 6 gal fuel :D

My question is about the new electric pump systems on the 2004 engines, not the old gear driven system.
I have been running the oil injection system (motor driven pump)since 1989 and have never had a problem with it.
