I am curently restoring a 17' Blue fin sportsman with a 50 hp force. The whole rig is a 1988 model. I have decided to work on the trailer at this point because i got the boat gutted and the motor off it... thus thinking it would be easier to handle the boat at this light weight. The boat and trailer I am sure came new together both are in great shape but my concern is.. should the boat rest on the keel rollers and the bunk boards or just the front roller and boards. It looks like there used to be a short set of bunks up towards the bow of the boat that are now gone. The very front roller has had the keel on it so hard it is starting to split it.When she is sitting on the trailer she is nice and level and sits very stable. Just not sure of the right way to displace the weight for the boat to be trailerd without stresssing it at any point. Any help or adivce would be great....thanks.

Re: question about bunks

i have a Shorelander with similar setup, the little bunk on the front are usually there to stabilise the hull more than to carry the load.
