OK, found this question by traderdavel in a thread about cleaning canvas, and I thought it was a valid question. He thinks it may be a stupid question, but I don't.

"This may be a stupid question - but how do you actually clean the top. Mine is in a slip - do you leave the top on and wash it down, I wouldn't want to take the top off and lay it on the ground, but then also thinking that the marina might not like the run off from the 303 - (also not sure if that should run over the clear coat) . told you it might be a stupid question"

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. Thanks...

Re: Question about cleaning canvas

I'm interested to hear what others do. My boat is slipped and I usually try to clean the canvas with a hose and sometimes simple green. I leave it on the boat while I'm doing this.
I'm looking to get some 303 soon to use on my seat cushions -- do people also use that on canvas? As I said, I'll be interested to hear what others do as well.

How do you wash the rest of your boat? Is there no run-off from that? I use Shout and a deck brush. Works great. Smells great.

I was reading old posts, and yes, it appears as though you can use 303. Some use Ivory, but I think 303 will do a better job.

It's not just about the runoff, but I think the accessibility of getting to all areas of the canvas when it's on the boat.
