Hi I have been doing some reading on the sticky's on this forum and I'm thinking I did not set my timing right. I had pulled intake (cracked) reinstalled everything. On the distributor i just dropped it in lined up with #1, fired the engine set it to 0 at an idle.Runs fine at idle, have not had time to make it to the water. Does my engine use the EST distributor and do I need to go back and follow the instructions for setting the EST distributor timing. I tried googling it but only found how to set the timing. Thanks in advance

Yes, you do have an EST distributor. How you set timing depends on if you have a carb or fuel injection. You need to put it into base timing mode. With a carb, you need the timing shunt. With FI you need to short two pins in the datallink connector.

Thank you for the reply. I have a 2 barrel carb. (non EFI) I was doing more reading last night, I need to buy the Volvo adapter plug to set the timing. Thanks for all the help!!!!
