Question about leg oil

Sorry if this is a dumb question but..
Can someone tell me what is the correct oil to use for the lower unit of a 1971 Johnson 9.5
I have some "Quicksilver Gear Lube" the bottle says it is for all outboards , is this acceptable

Technically you can use any gear lube of the correct viscosity however stuff made specifically for outboard lower units is better because it is designed to better handle slight amounts of water intrusion. The stuff you have there should be fine.

(and I think you mean "foot" oil not "leg" oil. :p)

Will have my boubts if that applies, the issue is that all outboards manufacturers wants you to buy their brand bottled products bought from third oil parties, good quality gear oil 80-90 or multigrade 80/90 will turn milky too, that's why is a must change every 100 worked hours or less your gear oil in case you spot water inside gearcase leg. In USA both oils must have minimum price difference so not a big budget issue if boating frequently...
