Hi Everyone,
I am in the process of rebuilding the fuel pump for my 1993 Mercury 40 horse (4 cylinder) outboard (Serial # - OD152581). The rebuild kit came with 2 gaskets and 2 diaphragms. When I reassemble it the diaphragms go against the fuel pump body and the gaskets go between the diaphragms and the end caps correct? When I took it apart the end cap that seals against the block had the diaphragm against the end cap and gasket between the diaphragm and fuel pump body, according to the manual this is wrong but the engine seemed to run fine this past summer.
thanks a lot
