Hi all, i had been in the market for a first time boat purchase, after all the issues sellers were running into with their boats i decided to go with something a little easier to maintain. I purchased a 2011 seadoo gts 130 with 20 hours on it. Not the fastest model but shes pretty and i got a great deal for her. I had been taking a closer look and had a few questions. Ill post pictures to make it easier to understand. Most of the engine compartment is covered in a powdery chalk residue, i assume its from water drying but just wanted to make sure that this was normal. Also from the coolant reservoir there is a clear tube coming off of it that goes down into the engine compartment that isnt attached to anything. Is this supposed to be that way? There is about a cup full of water sitting at the bottom of the engine compartment too? Finally didnt get a owners manual and was wondering whats the most inexpensive way to get one. thanks

Re: Question about recent seadoo purchase

Looks like salt water residue. Not good. Where was the boat used? Just check it and see if its salt. If its not, don't worry about it. If it is, it calls for a thorough rinsing with fresh water and then a spray down with Bombardier lube. The tube is an overflow tube....not to worry. After you wash it down and drain thru the transom plugs, wipe out the last bit of water. You shouldn't get water in the bilge unless you roll it over. I keep mine dry so I'll know if any of the thru-hulls start to leak. BRP has free downloads of the manuals right on their site. Get that for sure, but also buy a shop manual, which will probably cosy about $75. Well worth the money.

I agree completely with what's been said previously.

And don't complain about speed. There's no PWC on the market that's slow. 54 mph is fast enough for 90% of the people. I mostly cruise 25-30 mph, and seldom top end my Waverunner.
