Hey guys, I am hoping someone will be able to give me an answer on this. I just bought a 1992 bayliner with a 120hp force. I found a force service manual about a 2 hour drive from me but it's for a 1995/1996 120hp motor. Would this book work for me or is there too many differences. I thought about a clymers manual but I heard they are not a good option.

It will cover some parts and service that are the same BUT in 1994 I believe Brunswick (Mercury) staredt to put more parts from their Mercury line on the Force engines.
Already in 91-92 they put the Thunderbolt ignition system on some of the engines instead of the Prestolite system and 94-95 they put the Mercury style lower unit on.
I would suggest you to find a service manual for 1988 through 1991 models such as the OB4642 or one that covers 1992 year models.
Look at ebay and I think you will find one.

NO
95 and up is primarily Mercury.
Look for the right manual.

I bought the SELOC Force it covers from the small tillers to the 150s Chrysler to Mercury, very helpful, I bought a 25 foot pontoon with motor Force by Mercury 97 Model, 90 HP, do my own maintenance and it's covered everything, timing, tune up, water pump, seals, wiring all the way to ignition, ( had to replace that once) motor is actually solid, I've had for nearly 10 years now, only real thing I do is fluids, and Impeller, just because I've had those go bad on older boats many years ago....

Try looking up the ring end clearance on a 1987 85hp model B in your Clymer manual.
