Question about tell tail

Is there a specific ID hose to use on a tell tail?

I am wondering if to much water could be pumped out of the tell tail and not allowing enough to flow thru the engine for proper cooling.

I am using 1/4 or 5/16 ID hose.

Just want to make sure before it's to late.

Not to worry. The connection at the thermostat will prevent you from going too big. Pump supplies more than enough for cooling purposes.

most tell tales show water after it goes thru the engine. Don't matter much the hose size, excess water is dumped out the exhaust anyway. Uhhhh, what kind of motor?
