I have a '87 115 with the Integral trim system. I replaced the pump about 2 seasons ago. The fluid level is topped off with ATF.
The problem is that it will trim all the way out to the trim limit from the all the way in position, but will not tilt up, or trim back in. When pressing the down switch when trimmed out to the trim limit, the motor runs, but it doesn't go down. Then, when trying to tilt up, the motor makes a squealing noise and won't go up.
When it's manually tilted up, you can release the tilt lock lever and it will travel down very slowly when hitting the down button until it gets to the trim rods at the bottom, then it won't go any further.
I did manaually raise it several times and lower it all the way down with the release valve, but no change. It seems weird that the pump works with trimming out, but not trimming down or tilting up when it sounds like some juice is getting to the motor? Thoughts?
