I picked this boat up around spring time and have been trying to fix it up slowly. The radio is missing, so I picked up a new kenwood kmr330. I pulled the old radio harness out and it has two plugs that go into the boat harness. The wiring colors are solid green, black striped gray, black striped purple, solid blue, solid white, and solid yellow on one connector. On the other connector red, pink, black, and orange.

Now the new radio harness has red, black, yellow, green, striped green, gray, striped gray, purple, striped purple, white, striped white.

So my question is do I just wire up the colors that are there? Or do I need to run additional wires?

Matching colors is a good way to have a non-functioning system. You need to determine which wire colors go to which speakers on the boat. You then match those wires to the wires in harness for the new radio. Power, ground, and memory wires should be red, black and yellow respectively.
