Question about year of my boat

Hey guys i was hoooping to get your thoughts on my boat -the boat was produced by bayliner and sold to the original owner in 1996 - the block casting says 95 on it -being this is a 3.0lx -when purchasing parts for this engine i would use the casting of 95 as the year of this engine. Am I correct with this thinking any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Its logical to purchase parts using the 95 castings number but i just wanted to see what you guys thought,\.

Very common to have a year older driveline and engine.The boat builders use up inventory that way.
It should say on the ID tag with the serial number the year model.
Or post the serial number here and one of the guys will look it up..
It does not matter the year of the hull....go by what is on the engine.

thanks i need to get this right there seems to be a difference between the 96 and 95 ill post the serial in a a an hour or so thanks

My 96 sea ray is the same way block casting is 95

Best thing to do is forget about model year, and always use the SN when ordering parts. There can be multiple changes during a single year, but the SN will never let you down.

Besides, the casting numbers are from GM, not Mercruiser or Bayliner.

serial number is F788395
the manula that came with the boat is service manual 13

so what do you guys think what year parts should i be gettin?

It is a 1996 Mercruiser engine (Mod # 430L000JS). That means all the Merc stuff on it is 96.
The #13 manual was used on all 3.0L and 3.0LX models from 90 to 97.
