I have a question about a 94 Mercruiser 305 Engine with an Alpha 1 Gen 2 drive.
My question is this, I was changing the oil today and I just got all the oil our by the Pump, my question is how much oil should it have?
My second question is I noticed that the main water Circulation hose that comes from the Thermostat housing to the Water Circulation pump, mounted on the engine, is getting very warm. Should this be warm or should this be running Cold and pushing cold water into the system? This was once the boat had warmed up and was running around 175 degrees. I am wondering if there is some type of blockage in the thermostat housing as it is pretty corroded in there. I also noticed the hoses going to the Risers were cold, but the hoses going to the Manifolds were pretty warm also.
