Question for DHADLEY

I have 1997 225 Johnson Ocean Runner. I have had the VRO disconnected. What plugs should I be using. The manual list two different Champion plugs for this motor. Thanks for any help.

I have had good luck using the (Q)L77JC4's and 87 octane. I believe they list the (Q)L82's also. They work very well but I like the slightly cooler plug. Anything to keep combustion temps down and still not foul plugs.<br /><br />Also a good oil is important. I like the Merc High Performance oil in the race motor but it seems to load up in the "normal use" motors. I use the Pennzoil Marine partial synthetic blend in those motors that run under 7000 RPM. <br /><br />Good luck!
