Question for mmcpeck on 2000 Evinrude 150 Ficht

I read on another topic that you owned or own one of these motors. I am probably buying one this week but I'm a little weary because I've heard of a lot of problems with them. The one I'm considering has 340 hrs on it and has been dealer maintained since it was new. It is going to an Evinrude dealer this week to be checked out. What is your opinion on this motor? Other opinions welcome too! Thanks

Angler,<br /><br />If this is a RAM-version you are probably going to be okay.! I have the 175 Ram Ficht (2000). Experiencing a little problems now, because of a temp meter malfunction. It is going to be replaced. Great engine !!!<br /><br />Have the dealer read your engine out. The computer will tell you what the history on this engine is. Any fault codes will be included.<br /><br />This direct injection engine can give you a lot of pleasure. Keep it in good shape !! New plugs every year and use a certified TCW3 oil !<br /><br />Happy boating !!!
