question on carb rebuild; 78' 55hp johnson

I am rebuilding the carbs in my 55horse Johnson and just would like to know if the floats that come in the carb kits are pre set or will they need adjusting? This might sound like a stupid question, but I'm not sure.<br /><br />Thanks alot,<br />Sean

You may have to make a slight adjustment. With the carb upside down, the float should be parallel with the carb body. To adjust, you carefully bend the float arm.
