Question on my L/U please help.

Well drop my alpha one L/U and have a few questions on what I see. my serail number is 1623 8950-01 .. Can any one determine my year and model? the motor is a 1990 merc 3.0<br /><br /> Also, my shaft o-ring was gone, when I reach up in the shaft housing, I was able to only find half of the o-ring, I need to replace this. and one knwo what size o-ring to use?<br /><br /> Last thing is that my plastic water tube was melted out of shape a little at the top, kind of cuase a little lip, I don't think this is a problem, but do you? should I try to replace it, and if my loacal marine doesn't have it can I just get some tube from lows and cut it to size?<br /><br /> Thanks,<br /> Thomas

I was told that it was not neccesary to put the o-ring back on the shaft.. True or false. also I notice that where the, old piece of oring came from, up in the upper housing, there was a small aoumt of gear lube, did not sem to be enuff to drip, but did seem as if it was leaking.. is this normal or concern?

I can't find a part number or any thing saying what size the o-ring is suppose to be.. does nay one know..??
