So I just replaced the impeller and I installed it rotating the drive shaft clockwise the motor is a 1977 Johnson 200 hp v6 outboard and I was watching a video of the motor running and looks like the motor rotates counter clockwise is this true do I have to drop the lower unit again and flip the impeller over?

watch an old western movie, the stage coach wheels always look like they're going backwards......just sayin.

the manual for my 115 says to spin it clockwise during installation, I'd bet you did it right

Re: Question on the water impeller

You installed it correctly. The driveshaft rotates clockwise. Actually, if you put the impeller in going the wrong way, the vanes will straighten out correctly the first time you start it.
