I was looking to replace the leaf springs and axle on a Magic tilt single axle trailer to go from a 2000 lb axle to a 3500#..

The trailer currently has 30" (measured with no load on the axle) radius slipper springs (1.75" width). The radius contacts the trailer frame about 1.5 inches before the radius gradually bends down through the welded on rear hanger.

I'm having difficulty finding radius springs in this length as the common size from Eastern Marine and others seems to be 32"

I've seen several vendors and Eastern Marine that carry 30" flat slipper springs. Can you use either one? The problem I see is that the flat ones will rest/ride on the welded on hanger, and not the flat part of the trailer frame.

I wasn't sure if both the radius and the flat spring use the same hanger, and if I could just use the flat ones?

Thanks for the help!

Is the difference between the load rating just the number of leafs? If so you could have a spring shop add a few leafs to your springs.
