Let's say you're cruising along an unfamiliar creek and the water is up. There are stumps & treetops that nearly reach the surface on either side but in the cloudy water you won't see 'em from very far away.

Got any tips for staying in the channel? I trim the motor way up to protect the prop, go slow & try to stay in the deepest water. When it gets shallow go toward the most likely bank first (outside edge around bends) then veer back the other way if it don't get deeper. Sure would like to go faster. There must be a trick to this, isn't there?

Slow and easy is the best practice. Knowing the water way in advance always helps. Deepest water is not always the safest but most of the time it is.

Good luck.
