Not really a problem, just a question. I ordered a water pump kit for my 1998 40hp mercury elpto as figured should replace just for piece of mind. The kit came with two impeller shaft seals. One was black and looks like a little 'top hat' while the other one is simply straight and is gray in color. I have a manufacturers manual but it really doesn't say why two. I replaced using what was on the motor(the little top hat). Is the second one for a short shaft?<br /> Great board.
