Mechanical steering on my 16' Wahoo with this engine is extremely easy and have
no complaints, however the only downside is that when trailering, the motor will
swing from side to side, should I not worry about this motion and tie motor with
bungee cord when trailering, or is there some adjustment device on motor to increase
pivot friction????

I have been told that there are alarm sequences for overheating and VRO on this
engine. The alarm sounds with a self-test a start-up, and sometime give a brief
chirp at idle, I understand the self-test beep, but what is the difference between
VRO malfunction and overheating???

The best way I have found to keep the motor straight is to bungee cord the steering wheel to something like the seat base.

The warning horn is supposed to give you a "check" beep when turning on the ignition. It should NOT beep when idling. You have a problem somewhere. If you do not have a manual, you need to get one. The single beep could be oil or temp.-I'm not sure, you should get it checked out-pronto.

Nash.... The various warnings for the V/4 engines are:

1 - Constant steady beep = Overheating.
2 - Beep every 20 seconds = Oil level down to 1/4.
3 - Beep every other second = VRO failure, Air in oil line, oil restriction, No oil.
