questions about first purchase of a fish finder from Lowrence

im thinking of buying this unit
New Lowrance HDS 5X Gen2 Gen 2 Fishfinder 5" LCD 83 200 T M Transducer 10526 001 | eBay
saw plenty of guys recommending it on the web
could u please tell me whats the maximum depth it could show me fish and map the surface ?
where i fish - gulf of Eilat,israel the depth can start anywhere between 30m to 500m
to my understanding even the transducer that comes with the unit can show 30m with no problem, but what about those 500m depths , do i need a different transducer for that ? if so , could u recommend me one that will do the job on all those depths ?

I would jump to Simrad units for those depths.

i cant find something in the HDS5X price range ?

ok guys i did some thinking and decided to up my budget, what i want to know is what is the difference between HDS 7 and simrad nss8 ?
transducer wise im gonna go with the Airmar b260 - to my understand its one of the best for those depths
but about the fishfinder, why does the nss8 cost a whole lot more than the hds, what do i get for the money ?
