Greetings Gents,
I just got my hands on a old Merc 7.5 that's in great shape. I don't know if it runs yet which leads to my questions.
There are no plugs in it. What I can find says it takes NGK BUHW2 plugs which cross to Champ L78V. Looking at the Champ numbering system it looks like L77JC4's are in the same specs as the L78V. Will the L77JC4's work? I have some on hand.
Also, research shows it to be a 1973 because of the SN 3730520 but I can't find any online parts for that SN range. All it's missing is the cap on the end of the tiller handle. Any idea where I can get one?
Finally, I see the prop has a nut holding it on instead of the usual cotter pin. Is there a shear pin in there also or does it just bolt on?
