Questions on Big Mercury's.

I would like to know the difference between the Opti's, XB's,XS's, racing X, etc. Especially the 250 XS. Have seen some 21 footers with the 250XS on them and seem to really fly yet be reliable. Most 21 footers are rated for 250's yet most seem to run 225's and yes some do have a 250 yami or evinrude on them. The 225HO seems to out perform all 250's except the XS. What gives. Are they 10% over on horsepower like the HO's are?

The 225HO's may be set up better than the 250's or be on faster hulls.
